LeadMagic alternatives, sorted by why you are leaving
A clear rate card and no free tier. The second half is what sends people looking. 4 replacements below, each one matched to a specific reason rather than ranked on a score nobody can audit.
Prices and limits for every option below are read off the vendor's own page. These are the LeadMagic competitors that answer a named problem, not a field of logos.
The 3 reasons people actually leave
If none of these is your situation, the honest answer is that you should probably stay, and the LeadMagic API review covers what you already have. The 26 providers these replacements are drawn from are in the Enrichment APIs listing.
1 · There is no free tier to test on
Essential starts at $99 and there is no free allowance, so you cannot measure your own match rate before paying. In a category where nobody publishes a match rate, that is a real obstacle, and the floor doubled in 2026.
2 · The MCP server wants an API key
It ships free on every plan, which is genuinely good, but it authenticates with a long-lived key in a local config file rather than OAuth. For some security teams that is the end of the conversation.
3 · Coverage is global rather than deep anywhere
LeadMagic is solid everywhere and best-in-class nowhere. On a heavily European list the EMEA specialists return more, which matters more than a half-cent difference in the rate.
4 replacements, and what each one fixes
Ordered by how often they turn out to be the right answer, not by price.
| Provider | Entry price | Unit cost | Free tier | Fixes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LeadMagic | $99/mo | $0.0198 per credit | No free tier. Essential starts at $99 for 5,000 credits, and failed lookups cost nothing. | Baseline |
| Prospeo | $49/mo | $0.0245 per credit | Free plan, 100 credits a month, and no API access on it | Cheapest entry for email |
| Findymail | $99/mo | $0.0198 per credit | A free account with 10 credits and no card, which this directory counts as a trial rather than a free tier | Best bounce guarantee |
| Hunter | $49/mo | $0.0245 per credit | Free plan, 50 credits per month | Best documented starter |
| Apollo API | $49/seat/mo | $0.0196 per credit | Free plan with API access, 900 credits per seat per year granted monthly, so 75 a month | Best all-in-one GTM API |

The case for each one
Each one below is matched to a reason rather than scored, and each one names what you give up by taking it. A replacement with no downside is a replacement nobody has actually run.
Prospeo
The same price to within a dollar, with 100 free credits a month so you can measure in the app before committing.
Prospeo is $49 a month per user for 2,000 credits at $0.0245 each, against LeadMagic's $99 for 5,000 at $0.0198. The per-credit rate favors LeadMagic by about a fifth; the floor favors Prospeo by half. Which one wins is decided entirely by whether you will use 5,000 lookups a month.
The reason it is first on this page is the free plan: 100 credits a month, which is the thing LeadMagic does not offer at any price. You can measure what Prospeo returns on your own list before spending anything, and that measurement is the only number that actually decides an enrichment purchase.
The free tier has no API access, so the test runs through the app rather than through code. Annual billing delivers the year's credits upfront at roughly a 25% discount, which suits lumpy volume.
What you give up
The published per-operation rate card and the success-only billing. LeadMagic states a credit cost for every operation and deducts nothing on a miss; Prospeo prices credits and does not break the operations out the same way. You also give up the bundled MCP server.
When it is the wrong answer
Anyone running more than about 2,500 lookups a month. Prospeo's $99 tier carries 5,000 credits at the same point LeadMagic's $99 does, so above the entry tier the advantage disappears and the rate card favors LeadMagic again.
Entry $49/mo. Free plan, 100 credits a month, and no API access on it. Prospeo gets you to 2,000 verified emails a month for $49, which is the cheapest real entry point in this directory, and unused credits roll into the next cycle rather than expiring. Read the review · LeadMagic vs Prospeo
Findymail
Cheaper per email and the only provider here that refunds credits if your bounce rate exceeds 5%. Verified at find time rather than as a second step.
Findymail verifies every email in real time as it finds it, so there is no separate verification vendor, no second invoice and no stale-database problem. LeadMagic sells validation at 0.25 credits as its own operation, which is cheap and is still a step you have to build.
The guarantee is the unusual part and nothing else in this directory offers it: if your bounce rate exceeds 5% on Findymail emails, the credits are refunded. That is a real commercial commitment rather than an accuracy claim on a marketing page.
Credits roll over up to twice your monthly allowance, duplicates found in the last 30 days are not charged again, and API access is on every plan. A phone costs 10 credits against an email's 1, and mobiles are non-EU only.
What you give up
Mobile coverage in Europe and the published operation-by-operation rate card. Findymail does not sell EU mobile numbers at all, which is disqualifying for a European calling motion, and LeadMagic's mobile is 5 credits against Findymail's 10.
When it is the wrong answer
Any team whose motion depends on EU mobile numbers. That is the one thing Findymail will not do, and no amount of bounce guarantee compensates for a field that is never returned.
Entry $99/mo. A free account with 10 credits and no card, which this directory counts as a trial rather than a free tier. Findymail verifies at the moment it finds, so you are not paying twice for the same address. Visit Findymail · LeadMagic vs Findymail
Hunter
A 50-credit monthly free tier and Domain Search, which returns every known address at a company. The fastest way to get a working call out.
Hunter has been the default first API in this category for a decade and the documentation shows it. If what you want is a working call this afternoon rather than the best match rate, nothing else here gets you there faster.
Domain Search is the capability LeadMagic does not have in the same form: give it a domain and it returns every known address at that company, which is a different question from enriching a named person and is often the one you actually have.
The free tier is 50 credits a month, indefinitely, which is enough to prototype against. Paid starts at $49 for 2,000 credits at $0.0245, falling to $0.0120 at the $299 Scale tier, so the per-credit rate halves across the ladder rather than staying flat.
What you give up
Coverage and mobile numbers. Hunter's dataset is the narrowest here and it is not a waterfall, so where it misses there is no second provider behind it. LeadMagic's published mobile rate has no Hunter equivalent worth comparing.
When it is the wrong answer
High-volume contact enrichment on hard segments. Hunter is a starter API and a domain tool, and asking it to do what a multi-source waterfall does will show up as a match rate you do not like.
Entry $49/mo. Free plan, 50 credits per month. Hunter has been the default first API in this category for a decade, and the documentation shows it. Read the review
Apollo API
Within one percent per credit and half the monthly floor, if you can live with a seat license and credits granted per seat per year.
The rates are effectively the same: $0.0196 an Apollo credit against $0.0198 a LeadMagic credit. What differs is the floor. Apollo is $49 a seat a month for 2,500 credits; LeadMagic is $99 for 5,000. Below about 2,500 lookups a month Apollo is half the price for the same work.
Above that it keeps winning, but by buying seats rather than tiers: Apollo's 30,000 credits are granted per seat per year, so 10,000 lookups a month is four Basic seats at $196 against LeadMagic's $249 Growth plan.
Apollo also brings search, sequencing and CRM write-back on the same balance, with the sequence, contact and task endpoints costing nothing, plus an MCP server and a free plan to test on.
What you give up
Forecastability and the per-operation rate card. LeadMagic states a credit cost for every operation and deducts credits only on success; Apollo publishes one credit price and a table of what each call spends. You also take on a seat you may not need: a headless pipeline with no human user still pays for one.
When it is the wrong answer
Teams whose finance function wants a number for next quarter rather than a range, and anyone running an unattended pipeline where paying per seat for zero people is the thing that grates.
Entry $49/seat/mo. Free plan with API access, 900 credits per seat per year granted monthly, so 75 a month. One of the few providers here that covers sourcing, enrichment and sending behind a single key, which is why it is usually the first API a GTM team wires up and the last one they rip out. What you would actually pay, on each one
4 of the 5 providers here publish a rate card. Findymail does not, and the entry price below is all it will tell you without a call. The plan you want is the one whose included volume covers a normal month for you, not the cheapest one on the page.
LeadMagic
LeadMagic publishes 4 tiers, one of them free, and the paid ladder runs from $99 to Higher.
Essential
- $83/mo billed annually, $990 a year, saving $198
- $0.0198 a credit, or $0.0165 on the annual 60,000
- 3 seats sharing one credit pool
- Rollover up to 2 months
Growth
- $208/mo billed annually
- $0.0124 a credit, or $0.0104 on the annual 240,000
- 5 seats, one shared pool
Professional
- $0.0100 a credit, or $0.0083 on the annual 600,000
- The published floor is $0.007 a credit at volume
Free tier
- No way to measure your own match rate before paying
- The clearest gap in an otherwise clear rate card
Prospeo
Prospeo publishes 4 tiers, one of them free, and the paid ladder runs from $49 to $249.
Free
- No API access, Enrich or Search
- 28 search filters, 3 intent topics
- Max 25 rows per selection
- App only, which is the thing to notice
Starter
- $441 a year, which is $37 a month
- 24,000 credits delivered upfront on annual
- 32 filters, 6 intent topics, 20,000 row selection
- $0.0245 a credit
Growth
- $888 a year, which is $74 a month
- 60,000 credits upfront on annual
- 38 filters, 9 intent topics
- $0.0198 a credit
Pro
- $2,241 a year, which is $187 a month
- 180,000 credits upfront on annual
- All 41 filters, 12 intent topics
- $0.0166 a credit, and the highest rate limits
Findymail
Findymail publishes an entry price and nothing above it, so there is no rate card to put here. The published figure is $99/mo, and nothing above it is on the pricing page.
Get these in writing before you sign: the per-unit rate at your volume, the annual minimum, how many seats that price assumes, whether API access is included or an add-on. Without the first two you cannot compare this against anything else on this page.
Hunter
Hunter publishes 4 tiers, one of them free, and the paid ladder runs from $49 to $299.
Free
- Full API access, not a trial
- Domain Search, Email Finder and Email Verifier
- Enough to measure your own match rate
- Renews every month, indefinitely
Starter
- $34 a month paid yearly, 24,000 credits upfront
- $0.0245 per credit at the monthly rate
- Credits shared across find, verify and search
Growth
- $104 a month paid yearly, 120,000 credits upfront
- $0.0149 per credit at the monthly rate
Scale
- $209 a month paid yearly, 300,000 credits upfront
- $0.0120 per credit at the monthly rate
Apollo API
Apollo API publishes 4 tiers, one of them free, and the paid ladder runs from $49 to $119.
Free
- Full API access, not a trial of it
- Granted monthly, so 75 credits a month in practice
- 2 sequences and basic filters
Basic
- US$588 a seat a year, credits granted upfront and pooled across the team
- 2,500 credits a month, at $0.0196 each
- Annual billing saves 24% against paying monthly
Professional
- 4,000 credits a month, at $0.0198 each
- AI lead scoring and multi-touch outreach
Organization
- 72,000 credits a seat a year, so 6,000 a month
- $0.0198 a credit, so the rate is flat across every paid tier
- The three-seat minimum makes US$357 a month the real floor
Read the included volume before the headline price. A plan that costs twice as much and carries five times the credits is the cheaper plan, and on this page that is the usual case rather than the exception.
What each one costs at your volume
LeadMagic first, then every replacement. The model picks the cheapest published plan that covers your volume on each one, which is the comparison a row of entry prices cannot make.
LeadMagic
Priced on the volume you use, so the plan that covers a normal month is the one that decides the bill.
Prospeo
Priced on the volume you use, so the plan that covers a normal month is the one that decides the bill.
Findymail
Publishes an entry price and no ladder above it, so the figure below is a floor rather than a forecast.
Hunter
Priced on the volume you use, so the plan that covers a normal month is the one that decides the bill.
Plans are read from each vendor's own pricing page and the model picks the cheapest one that covers you, so these are list prices before any discount you negotiate and before annual billing, which most of these vendors discount. Findymail publishes an entry price with no ladder above it, so the figure shown is the floor rather than your bill.
What a year costs at three volumes
The same plan-fit arithmetic as the model above, run out to a year, because an annual number is what a budget actually asks for. Every column moves with volume, because all of these meter usage rather than seats.
| A year at | LeadMagic | Prospeo | Findymail | Hunter | Apollo API |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 a month | $1,188 Essential | $588 Starter | $1,188 | $588 Starter | $588 Basic |
| 10,000 a month | $2,988 Growth | $2,988 Pro | $1,188 | $1,788 Growth | $2,352 Basic |
| 50,000 a month | Quoted | Quoted | $1,188 | Quoted | $11,760 Basic |
5 of the 5 providers here publish enough to be put in this table. These are list prices on the published plan that covers each volume, so they are the number before you negotiate and before annual billing, which most of these vendors discount by between a fifth and a half.
Which replacement is yours
Answer what matters most and the lean appears below. Every option is read from the records on this page, and staying on LeadMagic is one of the possible answers.
Each answer leans one way. The recommendation appears here once you have picked at least two.
A tool like this can only weigh what is on the page. It does not know your segment, and the one test that does is the bake-off further down: real rows, cheapest entry on each side, spend divided by survivors.
Where an answer leans on a certification or an integration, it means that vendor publishes it on the pages this directory read, which is not the same as the other one lacking it. The sources are listed at the foot of the page.
Where the data comes from, and what you may do with it
The question that arrives late and expensively is not how good the data is, it is who is allowed to hold it. A migration is the moment to check it, because you are signing a new contract anyway.
| Provider | Fields returned | Coverage | Compliance | Redistribution |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LeadMagic | Work email, Mobile phone, Firmographics, Job postings, Job changes, LinkedIn profile | Global | GDPR DPA | Not stated |
| Prospeo | Work email, Mobile phone, LinkedIn profile | Strongest in EMEA | GDPR DPA | Not stated |
| Findymail | Work email, Mobile phone, LinkedIn profile | Strongest in EMEA | GDPR DPA | Not stated |
| Hunter | Work email, Firmographics | Global | GDPR DPA SOC 2 Type II | Not stated |
| Apollo API | Work email, Mobile phone, Firmographics, Technographics, Job postings, Intent and news, LinkedIn profile, CRM records | Global | GDPR DPA SOC 2 Type II CCPA | Not stated |
None of these states a redistribution position on its pricing or docs pages. Internally that never matters. Put the rows in something your customers can see and it becomes the question your legal team asks first.
Two practical notes that apply to every provider on this page. A compliance badge describes the vendor, not your use of it, so a GDPR DPA does not give you a lawful basis for the outreach you send. And every one of these vendors runs its own opt-out, which means a person who asks you to delete their record has to be removed from your copy as well as from theirs.
Moving off LeadMagic
Written against Prospeo, the first pick above, because the steps are the same whichever one you take and the specifics are what make them useful. Swap the name and the order still holds.
Measure the thing you are about to lose
Run 500 rows you already have through LeadMagic and record the match rate, the fields that came back populated and the cost. Without that number a migration cannot be judged, because every provider looks cheaper per unit than the one you are paying for today.
Check the fields, not the field count
Prospeo does not return Firmographics, Job postings and Job changes, which LeadMagic does. If anything downstream reads firmographics, that is a change to your pipeline and not just to your vendor.
Rewrite the auth and the limits, in that order
LeadMagic authenticates with API key in the X-API-Key header. Prospeo uses API key in the X-KEY header.
The limits are the part that bites later. LeadMagic rate: 5 req/s account-wide on Professional, 10 req/s on Ultimate.
Prospeo rate: Per plan: Enrich 5/300/2,000 on Starter up to 30/1,800/500,000 on Pro. No API on Free. A loop tuned to the first will either crawl or get throttled on the second.
Run both for one billing cycle
Keep the old key live and route a slice of real traffic to the new one. A month is the shortest honest test, because credit expiry, rollover and the overage rate only show up at renewal and those are where the surprises live.
Cancel on the renewal date, not before
Credits on most of these plans do not survive a downgrade. Check what happens to the balance you have already paid for, and time the switch so you are not buying the same records twice.
The step people skip is the first one, and it is the only one that cannot be done after the fact. Once the old key is off you have nothing to compare the new match rate against, so a provider that is quietly worse on your segment looks like a provider that is fine.
What practitioners say about Findymail
The one part of this page that is not a vendor claim. The comment below makes its point in crude words, so we summarize it in our own words and link the thread. A Reddit claim is a signal rather than a fact, so nothing here is the only source for a figure on this page.
Run the bake-off yourself, because the answer is list-specific
In our words: Asked which email finder to buy, a seller answers that the tools are much the same, and that an hour spent trying each one's free credits on a few real prospects settles it better than any recommendation.
r/sales · March 2025 · summarized rather than quoted
The same conclusion this page reaches. Match rate is a property of your list, not of a vendor, so the only number that decides this is the one you measure on your own rows. Every provider on this page except LeadMagic has a free tier or a trial you can run that test on.
The thread it comes from is also the clearest example of why these blocks are scoped the way they are: it is a "best email finder" question, and most of the replies are people naming the tool they sell. The one worth reading is the one that tells you not to trust any of them.

A bulk verification competes with the thing you bought the plan for
I've used hunter for quite some time. I needed to do a bulk verification and now my plans ruined. Looking for a new option. Spent hundreds with hunter - way more expensive than it once was
r/agency · October 2024 · 1 point
Hunter's subscription plans run one credit pool across Email Finder, Email Verifier and Domain Search, so a one-off list clean draws on the same allowance as finding does. On Starter that allowance is 2,000 credits a month, which makes a 10,000-address verification five months of the plan spent on a job that found nothing new. Credits reset monthly and do not roll over, so there is no banking your way out of it either.
What Hunter publishes for exactly this case is the Data Platform, where search credits and verification credits are bought separately and priced apart from the subscription. That is worth knowing before concluding the plan is the wrong shape, because the complaint is really about using the wrong product rather than about the price.
Only one comment from this harvest is quoted, and that is the finding. Of 83 candidates the highest-scoring were people promoting their own tools, two of them linking a Hunter URL with an affiliate parameter on it, and five more threads turned out to be about LinkHunter, a link-building product with no connection to Hunter.io.

The rate limit, not the credit price, is what people actually hit
In our words: A practitioner building on the API says the rate limits are what their team hit, that they got past them by routing requests across three Apollo accounts, and that Apollo charges per request even when a lookup returns nothing.
r/gtmengineering · May 2026 · summarized rather than quoted
Two halves worth separating. The limit is real and it is on this page: 200 requests a minute and 2,000 a day on Basic, with enrichment on a separate 1,000 a minute and no daily cap, which is why a bulk job and a per-row loop feel like different products.
The charge-on-no-output half needs care, because Apollo publishes 0 credits when nothing is found and that matches what we read. What a miss does spend is a request against the rate limit, and when the limit is the binding constraint that is the cost you feel. Pooling accounts to get round a published limit is a terms question before it is an engineering one.

Should you actually switch?
LeadMagic is the most forecastable provider in this directory and that is worth paying for. The honest reasons to switch are the missing free tier, the API-key MCP, and European coverage. If none of those is your problem, the alternatives are all lateral moves.
No provider in this category publishes a match rate you can hold them to, so run the same 500 rows through one free tier and one trial, verify every result set, and divide spend by survivors. Your own list is the only evidence worth acting on, it takes half a day, and it changes the decision often enough to be worth it.

Switching from LeadMagic, answered
What is the best LeadMagic alternative?
It depends on why you are leaving, which is how this page is organized rather than ranked. The replacement most teams land on is Prospeo, which this directory lists as the cheapest entry for email, at $49/mo. The case for it, and what you give up, is in the section above.
Is there a free alternative to LeadMagic?
Hunter (Free plan, 50 credits per month) and Apollo (Free plan with API access, 900 credits per seat per year granted monthly, so 75 a month).
What is the cheapest LeadMagic alternative?
On the entry plan, Prospeo: $49/mo, against LeadMagic at $99/mo. Entry price is not the same as cost per result, so check the unit figure on each review before deciding.
How were these alternatives chosen?
By the reason teams leave, not by a score. The page opens with the reasons teams leave and matches a replacement to each one.
